My Kitchen Table Make-Over...

With the sun making an occasional appearance it has helped to boost my creativity and get started on some projects around the house that have been bugging me. For starters, I know I posted a while back about how I wanted to find a new kitchen table. It still hasn't happened and I'm not sure when it will be a big priority. For now, I decided that I would find a cute table cloth, get a rug for underneath the table and make a sort of table scape to dress up the place. My goal was accomplished and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
I have had this sisal rug for a few years. I bought it with the intent that I would put it out on our back deck and make an outdoor living room type space. Sadly, that project still hasn't happened so I decided to put the rug to some good use. I found this doily/vinyl tablecloth at Ross for $6, I know it sounds tacky but seriously I love it! It looks like fabric and you can just wipe it down. I want to go back and see if they have more! I had this butterfly tray that I bought at Ross a while back and I went to Ikea and found these faux succulents. I am normally not into fake plants but these look real and I don't seem to have a green thumb. The plants were $5 a piece and the silver pots were $1.
The good news is that you can have the ugliest table in the world and all you have to do is dress it up a bit and nobody will know there is an ugly table hiding behind all the prettiness!

You should try updating your kitchen table and see what a difference it makes, it put me in a good mood first thing this morning!

First off, Your table is not ugly! But I do LOVE what you did. That table cloth is soooo pretty! and that tray is just COOL. Love everything.

I agree completely. Whenever I dress my table up (flowers, etc.)it does bring a smile to my face. :)

I love how you dress up your table with simple and inexpensive items. The table cloth you picked is very lovely and practical, too! You did a good job, Staci!
