Eli's Kilim rug...

I am going to use this beautiful rug I found as a launching pad for my two year olds big boy room makeover. I'm not sure when the ribbon-cutting ceremony is going to begin. I still have him in his crib and I'm not in a hurry to get him out. My second to youngest daughter used to sleep like a dream until we moved her into a regular bed, since then the memories of her sleeping for 11 plus hours have long faded away.
I'm thinking for Eli's room, I would like to go with a look that he can grow with. I want to mix a bunch of styles together and see what happens, it should be interesting! His walls are painted with Restoration Hardware's light silver sage. His main wall is painted white with ship lap siding. I have never photographed his room because it hasn't been photograph worthy, that is all going to change on an unknown timeline and I will definitely post pictures as the project unfolds.
On a side note, I think I have a secret obsession with rugs. I am so drawn to Kilim, wool rugs and I think I could easily fill up my whole house with a collection of unique and colorful varieties. I think these beautiful rugs can light up a room and change the look of a space. When decorating a room, I think it is wise to start with the rug and move onward from there. If in doubt, when shopping for a rug look for the flat weave wool type and you rarely can go wrong!

I love rugs too! And I can't wait to see how you build Eli's room around that rug. I love taking sneak peaks of things you've done when I'm at your house. I think designing a room from the floor up is the best way to go too. Too bad I've learned that the hard way
