Let's talk paint colors...

I get questions all the time about paint color preferences. Painting is such a big job and one that you don't want to have to go back and re-do. It's important to make the right choice the first time so you don't have to repeat this same daunting task. Take a look around at your surroundings and take into consideration what existing color palette you are working with. For example, what color is your flooring, your furniture, your window coverings, light fixtures etc..If the tones are from the warm family that it makes sense to go with a warm hue, something that complements and brings out the feel and effect you are trying achieve and vice versa with the cooler tones.
Paint is such a cheap fix (when you are doing it yourself) and has the ability to transform the look and feel of a space.  One last tip is to decide on a paint finish. Flat or matte paints can hide imperfections in walls while glossier finishes tend to reflect light.
I have lived in my home for two years and I'm happy to say that I still really like my paint colors.

My office has a lot of natural light so I decided to go more bold with the paint color. I chose Farrow & Ball: Down pipe.

I used Restoration Hardware's: Pale Silver throughout my whole main level. I love the bright/airy feel it brings to my space.

In my daughters room, I went with Restoration Hardware's: Sycamore Green. I love the soft, light and feminine feel.

I used Restoration Hardware's: Light silver sage in my other daughter's bedroom, it is such a pretty blue hue.

If you are looking for a good neutral with underlying green/beige tones, Kwal Howells: Saltbush is a good go-to paint color. My client used this in her living room and it has a nice warm feel to it.

My client used Sherwin Williams: Amazing Grey. This is such a pretty grey tone that isn't too dark and could easily be used as a neutral.

Two different clients of mine went with Sherwin Williams: Agreeable Gray. This is such a pretty "greige" tone and works with both warm and cool hues and is very crisp and classic!

What about you? What paint colors are you loving these days? I love to hear new suggestions!
