Weekend bargains!

I love to share my finds especially when they are a good price. I stopped in at Downeast Home and found this great wool, pottery barn rug on clearance for $34. They also had this same rug in light green. I bought the 3x5, they had larger sizes as well.

I had been on the hunt for a lamp for Estella's room. I went to Ikea not for anything else besides sweet rolls, duh! Have you had Ikea sweet rolls before? They are worth the drive but not the guilt. I stopped into the "as is" section and found this lamp for $23, I think it works nicely in her bedroom.

Several people have asked about the seabird wall hanging. I did an earlier post about it but I will explain the details. My sister Jodi made this for me. I saw it in the Pottery Barn catalog for $399. Jodi can tackle just about anything. I am convinced she could probably build a custom home complete with all handmade decor and of course the awesome plank walls she is famous for! If you are interested in a Sea bird or any other wall hanging she is your woman! This particular bird she can do for $60.

Pottery Barn version

Before we built this home, I had purchased a bunch of stuff from home goods. I was left with a hand full of items that didn't fit in the scheme of things (because my house is so "themed based"). I took a bunch of stuff back and was so excited when I found this painting. I had several locations in mind for it. The painting landed on this wall, and it makes me happy whenever I walk up the stairs. I needed some Spring/ Summer colors to distract me from the snow outside.

PS: I learned how to make my images larger. I am slowly becoming a proffesional blogger if any of you need any advice, he he!
